Heavyweight Dereck Chisora threatened to pull out of the fight of next month with Joseph Parker during an extraordinary press conference in London on Monday.
As he wanted cash, chisora, 35, produced an expletive-filled rant.
The struggle on 26 October in London’s O2 Arena is your chief support to the entire world title bout between Regis Prograis and super-lightweights Josh Taylor, at the final of the World Boxing Super Series.
“Give me primary event or pull me out of this show,” said a furious Chisora.
“I am not going to market the O2 for these men to be the main event. I am being serious, you need me to sell the London audience, my fans it put these guys that nobody understands about in my display and mug me off.
“I am taking the main stage, if not I want more cash.”
Before the recent world lightweight title bout between Vasyl Lomachenko and Luke Campbell at the O2, promoter Eddie Hearn declared the event for 26 October, using the headline contest being involving Scotland’s Taylor and American Prograis.
Both men are unbeaten with Taylor holding the IBF entire world title that is super-lightweight and Prograis the WBC and WBA belts in a fight which also acts as the World Boxing Super Series’ final – an yearlong championship.
The very first news conference to advertise the show was held in the Park Plaza London Riverbank resort with Chisora along with his promoter David Haye sitting on a top table alongside Sky Sports’ mind of boxing Adam Smith, promoters Hearn and Kalle Sauerland as well as Taylor and Prograis along with their coaches.
Twenty minutes into the press conference, Hearn requested Chisora his thoughts on the fight and the Londoner asked”who’s the principal event of this struggle?”
Hearn replied by stating”the gentleman sitting next to you” (significance Prograis) and Chisora stated:”That is not likely to work for me personally ”
At one point, Prograis himself interrupted Chisora by saying that he and Taylor were the best two boxers in the super-lightweight branch and Chisora replied:”Do not get me started.
“No-one cares about you,” he further added. “I’m tired of selling displays and not making money so offer me some of the money which you are making. Boxing is thriving with all the heavyweights.
“Let them box in Glasgow and they could sell it out there.”
