Fantastic Britain will compete in the inaugural ATP Cup of January after Andy Murray’s late decision to enter.
Britain might not have qualified for the event had Murray not input under his world rank of two.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are in the area for the new championship, which will be played three Australian towns.
The draw takes place in the Sydney Opera House on Monday.
Three-time Grand Slam winner Murray stated in January that after fighting to recover from hip surgery, he intended to retire after the Wimbledon of this year.
The Scot went to come back to the court in the time to feature in Wimbledon, where he eventually played doubles with Serena Williams.
Murray missed out on returning for the US Open, deciding to play at the Winston-Salem Open in which he dropped to Tennys Sandgren at the very first round.
The ATP Cup, which carries 750 points, is distinct from the Davis Cup but could amalgamate with this tournament after it’s revamped, according to International Tennis Federation president David Haggerty.
