The Houston Astros are good at baseball. So good, that it seems one bettor in New Jersey would like to bet over $5 million they will win Major League Baseball’s World Series.
According to a document a petition was filed associated with the sports betting license.
We know very little about what is going down, but we do understand that somebody requested the cap of $5 million have been waived for at least one bet. Here’s the petition made into the DGE’s title:
That means somebody wants to bet MORE than $5 million.
The only hint is that the Astros are cited in combination with the petition. It makes sense that the bet is likely about the Astros to win the World Series. It possible it’d be a bet to win the American League pennant.
If the waiver has been granted, it is not yet known.
There are three choices on who could be booking this, and just two are NJ sportsbook apps:
All three run under the license under which the waiver has been registered. PlayNJ has reached out to PointsBet, FanDuel and the DGE to try to verify whether the waiver has been granted.
They’re +220 at FanDuel and +200 at PointsBet, if the wager is about the Astros to win the World Series.
