Both managers will probably be frustrated following this one for different factors. Paul Heckingbottoms Hibernian have been in a prominent position, a target up and a man up but poor has cost both things.
Christian Doidge is your guilty party missing four one-on-ones with Aberdeen goalkeeper and captain Joe Lewis, who did his job on each occasion.
Doidge united with large expectations awarded Hibernian paid a fair transfer fee for his services by their standards, however, the former Welsh basketball global failed to deliver yet again.
He missed three good chances in the opening league match of the season against St Mirren. This outcome will not have helped his confidence or the fans patience as Hibernian year wait to get a win in the Granite community continues.
Derek McInnes delegated media responsibilities to his helper Tony Docherty, who said the teams character and belief were right down to the supervisor. Aberdeen appeared to play with 10 guys and they had to clearly demonstrate their qualities at Ibrox after a weeks 5-0 thumping.
McInnes and Docherty felt neither Curtis Main nor Lewis Ferguson merited red cards for their struggles on Stevie Mallan but sense of injustice worked for the team as they pulled together to salvage a point.
Another Aberdeen increase was that the earlier than anticipated return of defender Scott McKenna out of injury. His presence will no doubt help as Aberdeen look to regroup and recuperate over the international break.
Motherwell proceeded into three points of Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic having a 2-0 win over St Mirren at Fir Park.
The Well, that are a stage behind Rangers, in third place, were forced to wait until the minute prior to taking the guide.
James Scott was the man to catch the target, with the Scotland U21 scoring a sublime curling shot into the top corner by the edge of the region.
Chris Long subsequently added gloss to leave St Mirren with no win in six league matches.
St Johnstone stay bottom and with no win, after being held to a 2-2 draw at Ross County.
Joe Chalmers opened the scoring for County in the 10th minute after converting Ross Stewarts cross.
St Johnstone equalised after 34 minutes when a ball behind discovered Stevie May, who slotted home.
When Matty Kennedy fired at a long-range strike the Saints then took the lead six minutes.
