Well, that did not take long. 24 hours later I said it is going to be interesting to see what Dave Dombrowski does with this team, he gets fired after suffering a 10-5 loss on Sunday. This is under a year after Dombrowski was a part of the Red Sox staff who won a World Series.
The Red Sox are still defending world champions, therefore prior to the season is over, it’s a bit crazy to think that people are being fired at the front office. Do not absolutely nothing and sitting still in the trade deadline had to rub people the wrong way. Two along with the Red Sox or A go may have had a fantastic enough team to enter the Wild Card Game.
Nevertheless, this roster should’ve been a team to start out with, even without a transaction. This team never focused on what they needed to do to get back to the World Series and only looked hungover all season. They will have only couple weeks left to perform this year and then they could regroup and reassess items for next year. If they don’t return in 2020 shooting away, I would be amazed.

It has been a great sign for the Yankees and James Paxton. Together with October just around the corner, now Paxton is beginning to pitch the finest we’ve seen from him all year.
