Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies MLB Pick – August 27th

Since they discovered a way to hold off the Atlanta Braves the Colorado Rockies revealed a rare glimpse of some heart. The game itself played out much differently than many people, myself included, had called. The game total was runs, so I was fairly shocked when the game hit on the ninth inning that a 1-0 game. The Braves managed to score against this decimated Rockies bullpen in the ninth to tie up the match, and it looked just like the Rockies went to find a means to lose their fifth game.
But at the bottom of the ninth, Ryan McMahon smashed a line drive on the weapon and walked the game off. While the win is not going to do much for its Rockies playoff odds, they are still eleven games back of the second wild card in the National League, it was a nice win for all the fans that have needed to watch this team underachieve all season long.
It was their very first loss in nine games, and as they needed to travel all the way from New York City where they’d played with to Colorado, it was likely to be a hard spot. To make things worse for the Braves, they are forced to head all the way back into the East Coast tonight and play the Toronto Blue Jays. Now if this isn’t a travel schedule, I don’t understand what is! For today’s bet we will stay here in Denver because the Rockies host the defending World Series Champion, Boston Red Sox.
As they are in Colorado to confront the Rockies for game one of a quick set, the Boston Red Sox keep their West Coast road trip tonight. As they took out two of three games from the San Diego 27, Even the Red Sox took care of business. Boston got the afternoon off to journey yesterday and needs to be rested as they hit on Colorado.
The Rockies will seem to make it two straight wins tonight and discovered a way to beat against a Braves staff. But sadly this group is a shell of its former self since they have lost several players to harm including Kyle Freeland, Jon Gray, German Marquez, Scott Oberg, David Dahl, and Raimel Tapia.
Beginning for the Rockies is Rico Garcia (0-0 0.00 ERA) making his major league debut, and also for the Red Sox it’s former Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello (11-10 5.49 ERA). The match complete over-under is placed at thirteen and a half conducts. The Red Sox are all -129 road favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:40 PM PST out of Coors Field in Colorado.
Rico Garcia will make his MLB debut tonight, and not because he’s ready to maintain the big leagues. Garcia was called up as the remainder of this rotation is in shambles and they need someone to eat innings up. Garcia started out his season from double-A ball and had solid outcomes. He was 8-2 with a 1.85 ERA at double-A and was quickly promoted to triple-A Albuquerque.
But that is when he started to fight against the competition. In twelve begins in triple-A, he had an ERA of seven runs, and he got blasted for home runs in only. He struggled with his command as he had walks. ?? As he must confront one and at Coors Field no less, where balls never appear to stay in the 39, those results don’t bode well for him tonight. I would be completely shocked in a way isn’t found by the Red Sox.
Rick Porcello doesn’t look a whole great deal like the guy that won the Cy Young Award a couple of years back. But he’s been a back of this spinning innings eater for the Red Sox this year, despite his effects that are inconsistent, they seem to win a little when he takes the mound. After dropping his first three starts of this year, Boston includes a 15-8 list when Porcello pitches.
And lately, he has actually pitched somewhat better as his ERA in August is 4.09, which is a lot better than it was in June and July where his ERA was over seven runs. Porcello is currently averaging more than seven runs a game of run support, which is one of the highest of any qualified newcomer in the sport right now.
The Red Sox have scored nine runs or longer over the mound eleven occasions this year with Porcello. In which Boston scored digits of aid double, he had five straight starts earlier this summer. It’s not easy to lose if your team goes out and scores you a match is run by ten.
This really is a mismatch. Even the Rockies, despite discovering a means to knock off the Braves last night, aren’t playing very good baseball right now. Even though they play at Coors Fieldthey can’t score runs now with many of their best players around the IL. We found that yesterday when they could muster only 1 run.
I don’t see Porcello shutting down the Rockies, because let’s be honest, the man just does not shut anybody down. However, I think a matchup involving a man and a Cy Young award winner making concealed MLB debut, that could not get anybody out in the minors, is certainly a mismatch.
I’m shocked to see this number as a one. -129 is a fair quantity. I glanced at the line, also it does offer an attractive +105, but I am not certain pennies is enough of a superior I want to pull the trigger laying a half and that operate dozen. So, I feel like I am getting way the top of it and also will back Boston about the money line. Give the Boston Red Sox as road favorites tonight in game one from Colorado in -129 to me!
